The first Hill Country Acoustic Music Camp will be held in Kerrville, Texas June 22-26, 2005 featuring Joe Carr and Gerald Jones teaching mandolin classes.

The camp is sponsored and produced by the Texas Arts & Crafts Educational Foundation whose mission is to support Texas artists and art as well as early Texas crafts. The camp will feature classes and structured jams in banjo, dulcimers, guitar, mandolin, fiddle and maybe even a yodeling class. Instruction will be suitable for novice to advanced players. The instructors for other instruments are: Alan Munde on banjo, Peggy Carter, Karen Ashbrook and Lee Rowe on Dulcimer, Dick Walker on fiddle, and Joe Carr and Gerald Jones on guitar. Registration will be limited to maintain individual attention and small class sizes. Tuition is $300.

The camp will be held on the beautiful grounds of Schreiner University right next to the Guadalupe River in Kerrville, Texas. Kerrville is 60miles NW of San Antonio, Texas and 70 miles west of Austin Texas on IH10. Lodging will be in campus dorms with lots of time for informal jams and playing. Marriot Sodexho will be providing the meals on campus. Lodging and meals are $240 for the camp.

There are RV campsites and motel rooms available in Kerrville.
