2009 Madeira Mandolin Orchestra UK Tour

Funchal, Madeira, Portugal — The Madeira Mandolin Orchestra has announced the dates for their upcoming tour of the United Kingdom in July, 2009.

On this tour they will be accompanied by Portuguese Tenor Carlos Guilherme. The program will consist of the orchestra performing the works of Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Bach, and they will accompany Carlos who will sing a selection of Neapolitan songs.

Established in 1913, the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra is the oldest established mandolin orchestra in Europe, but in terms of average age it is considered to be the youngest in the world.
