California Coast Music Camp - July 12-18 and July 19-25, 2009

Palo Alto, Calif. — California Coast Music Camp (CCMC), celebrating their 18th year in bringing the finest in quality music instruction to adults has announced the dates of their two week-long summer programs.

Sessions will be held July 12-18 and July 19-25, 2009, and students may register for one or both weeks.

A new location this year is the Sierra Nevada Gold Country, California, about 45 minutes East of Auburn.

More than 30 classes in mandolin, acoustic guitar, bass, voice, fiddle, banjo, ukulele, percussion, songwriting, and more. Styles include swing, blues, bluegrass, country, folk, Brazilian, Celtic, jazz, rock, and more. Plus workshops, jams, concerts, dances, and other fun packed activities.

Mandolinist Joe Weed and Orrin Star will be teaching "Beginning Mandolin" and "Advanced Mandolin Leads" respectively in Week 1.

For Week 2, blues mandolin legend Rich Delgrosso will teach "Mandolin Blues: From Rags to Shuffles" and Topher Gayle will teach "Beginning Mandolin."

Mike Compton will also teach in Week 2 adding Bluegrass Band Lab 101 (level 2 and up) and "Chop, Chop, Chop, Chop...What Else is There to Do? (level 3)".

There are also band workshops and purely repertoire classes that mandolin players can enjoy, not to mention all kinds of unlimited jamming opportunities.

Whether you're a shy beginner or a seasoned professional, CCMC's classes and activities will challenge and inspire you. The supportive atmosphere will encourage you to stretch musically, regardless of your level or experience. In addition to the summer music camp, CCMC produces other events during the year, including a winter retreat and reunion, a spring dance, and more.
