Ithaca, New York — Harris Mandolins will host a Frank Wakefield mandolin workshop on April 4, 2009 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the builder's workshop, 560 West King Rd.

Space is limited and a sell-out is anticipated so advance reservations are highly recommended. Cost is $30. For more information and to register, email Troy Harris or call (607) 272-9862.

A native of Emory Gap, Tennessee, Frank began his musical career in Dayton, Ohio in the early 1950s with Red Allen.

Ever since the release of his first original tune, "New Camptown Races" in 1953 at the age of nineteen, Frank has developed a unique style of playing that has influenced a new generation of musicians. Throughout his career, Frank has generously shared his knowledge with other mandolin players.
