Joe Craven will conduct a special Rhythm Workshop, performance and community jam at Nuci's Space in Athens, Geogia, on Friday, December 17, 2005. All levels, all ages and all instruments or found objects are welcome.

Since 1989, the former Atlanta native has been a multi-instrumentalist with the David Grisman Quintet and has performed with Jerry Garcia, Stephane Grappelli, the Persuasions, Maria Muldaur, and recorded music and sound effects for numerous TV ads and computer games. Joe's recent solo release "Django Latino" shows off his percussion, mandolin and fiddle playing along with a host of other instruments he has mastered.

The workshop is for all people, all levels, with an interest in deepening their sense of the time and textures of rhythms as they apply to the instruments they play, or favorite found object: squeeze toys, cake pans, waste cans, martini shakers.

The workshop is $10 and refreshments are included. There is a meet-and-greet with Joe from 9:00 - 9:30 p.m.

For more information contact Nuci's Space at www.nuci.org or call 706-227-1515.

Craven will also be appearing with legendary fiddler Vassar Clements and a stellar group of musicians to support Nuci's Space.
