Mando Magnificat - Evanston, Illinois

Evanston, Ill. — Mando Magnificat, a celebration of the enduring and brilliant versatility of the mandolin kicks off the 5-week Spring Festival held at Evanston's Pick-Staiger Concert Hall and will be held at 7:30 p.m. on March 7, 2009.

The title of the 2009 Spring Festival is Collaboration Exultation: A Festival of Musical Connections. From this gathering of mandolin masters, to the teaming-up of Chicago jazz greats, the festival celebrates the possibilities that emerge from unique musical alliances.

Featured performers for Mando Magnifact include Mike Marshall and The Big Trio, Sam Bush, Caterina Lichtenberg, Don Stiernberg, the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra, and Mirko Schrader on guitar.

Tickets are $16 for the general public, $12 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff, and $8 for students.

The concert will be broadcast on live streaming video through the concert hall's website, allowing music fans outside of the area to experience the event in person through their personal computer.
