The Mandolin Store has announced plans to hold their fourth annual After Thanksgiving Day sale on Friday, November 27, 2009, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. As part of this year's event, the store will be giving away a brand new Gibson Jam Master A mandolin to one lucky shopper.

Each first place winner from the 2008 Walnut Valley Festival Championships has been offered an opportunity to return to this year's festival to perform in a special concert.

Mike Marshall visited Germany this past May and went to the heart of the classical mandolin where he was invited to teach a workshop at the University of Cologne where Caterina Lichtenberg is the head professor of mandolin on the campus in the town of Wuppertal.
