Strap Button
Strap Button
A strap button is typically installed at the base of the neck either at an angle or inserted into the neck heel. The purpose is to attach the other end of a strap that will be attached to the endpin.
While not always the case, this will be found more often on an A model mandolin or a model without a scroll (two-point, electrics, hybrids). F style or Florentine shaped mandolins often have the strap attached to the scroll vs. the use of a strap button.
