Torch & Wire Inlay

The Torch and wire inlay pattern is named for the central torch figure and inlaid silver wire. This appeared on Gibson mandolin pegheads from approximately 1902-1911, only on the fanciest F model mandolins of the time.

The decoration style matches space-filling organic designs of the period, and sometimes is accompanied by a tree-of-life design on the fingerboard
