I got a couple instruments done and thought I'd post some photos. The two single cutaways are carved tops that I have been experimenting with. Thanks for looking.
I have strayed though as I am now finishing up an F5 and working on an OM.

I like the red one too!... and the inline headstock. Very Trini Lopez-ish.
Andrew, can you tell us the tonal differences between the tune-o-matic and the flat style bridges?

The only difference as a result of the bridge type is the amount of sustain. I think the hardtail bridge offers more sustain and a more solid tone as a result. The natural finish has a coil tapping P/P pot, so the primary tone difference is as a result of the wiring schematics. The red one has no switching options but I will install a switch or P/P pot if the buyer wants one. I don't really have any plan to continue to use the hardtail bridge on the carved top instrument. It was one of several prototypes when trying to decide on the amount of arch and the design. The red one is the closest to the final design except for the ones with a traditional TOM bridge with stop tailpiece.

Andrew,
Great looking instruments! I see that you have used the Rosewood saddle mount (Bridge) on the Sunburst? Love the look of the Sunburst, and the Carved body. John www.jlsmithmandolins.com |

Very nice! I dig the nat'l one, but you've got a very good looking blue there on the 2 point, too.

I like the blue best, myself. Great looking trio, Andrew.

The "blue" is actually seafoam green.

Another vote for the seafoam, although they're all beautiful.
