I still use Darco Lights on my Samick A, I will start playing a second Mid Missouri which is put away for Christmas. it came with a set of Ernie Ball mandolin strings. I will put them on it for now. The big problem with my love for these strings is getting them shipped from Nebraska.
Living in Canada, it's a bit of a hassle doing International Purchases. I am going to have to order 4 sets at a time. |

I appreciate all the kind words, and am glad these strings are working for most of you. For what it's worth, I will ship these to my Canadian brethren for no additional shipping charge. If you can put up with the Paypal shopping cart, these should be pretty easy to make their way up to the Great White North.

Ted, have you had any problems with defective strings? One of my D strings was defective. Lucky I had bought two sets and replaced the problematic string and it fixed the problem.
Problem: The two D strings were tuned in unison. Though the top D string would go sharp went fretted, way sharp. So on the 5th fret, the bottom D string was a perfect G but the top D string was almost a G#. I posted the problem in the builders section and it was suggested it was the string and not the nut or saddle, and sure enough it was the string. I had figured it was the string since it look to big a slightly different gauge even by the naked eye.

I usually use JM11s, but switched back TIs because the D's did not play nice in unison. I had the same problem with an earlier set, but, like Dfyngravity, I cannibalized the D's from another set. When I ran out of D's, I switched to ITs. With both JM11s and TIs (medium) the Jazzmando picks give a great sound.
