I put a Tone Gard on my Breedlove KF. I love the sound, but now I can't close the case without forcing it a little. Anybody else have this problem? What did you do? Thanks!

Whatever you do, don't force the case closed. Until you get another deeper case, you'll have to remove the Tone Gard when you put the mandolin away.

It is worth looking into getting a Bobelock. Keep the case for a lifetime.
I had the same problem when I first bought my ToneGard. I bought another case and have had no problems since. Whatever you do, don't force it. The top of a mandolin sees enough pressure from the strings. It doesn't need any more.

I put one on my FF and it closes OK. It's in a std. Breedlove oval case.

Thanks, guys. I've been using a soft case in the meantime and will soon buy another hard case. Probably have to spring for one of these: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/acces...-mandolin-case
???? with Mandolin Bro's so close in Staten Island? Or maybe I don't know how far away that is.....but I know Rachel could make sure you get the right case.I'm in NYC and have had to buy most mandolin equipment online.

Thanks, Tony. It's a subway ride, a ferry ride and a bus ride. It's about 2 hours each way. Not impossible.
oops, sorry Ian. Never been to NYC or SI. Didn't know it was such long ride. Sounds like an all day sucker. But they do have some mighty fine instruments. Being a small town boy I'm kinda intimidated by NYC, so for me it would be all about going to MandoBro's.
I've got a Tone-Gard on my FF and it fit a little snuggly in both the standard Breedlove case as well as the Superior Fiberglass case I picked up from the Mandolin Store. I'd suggest giving those a look. Not perfect, but for about $150, it's great. Flown twice with it, as well a knocked around town and the mandolin has been just fine. I will say that I do have to pull the lining back when fitting the mando in the case because of the tight fit.
