Just wondering if there is any mandolin playing going on in Cody? I was thinking about spending the summer there to visit family and I thought I'd better see if there was a bluegrass scene at all. I'm afraid it will be the deciding factor.
    Thanks

I can't help you much but I'm originally from Laramie WY and I worked over the summers in Yellowstone for a few years in the mid-90's. I know the Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival (link) has had some good artists over the years. You're also not more than a 4-5 hour drive from the Weber shop up near Bozeman.

I would expect there are some musicians in Cody over the summer, since all of the gateway towns around Yellowstone and Grand Teton tend to attract all sorts of artists. Given the very seasonal nature of the tourism business in Cody, I'd be surprised if there was a solid bluegrass scene. It's all spectulation for my part though. Hopefully someone who knows for certain can inform us.

On the plus side, Cody has a nightly rodeo during the summer.
