Hey folks
Any difference between the 515 and 615 or is it strictly cosmetic? Any preference for the sunburst or stain finish? thanks a bunch.

Cosmetic in a way. Back binding does prevent chips into the wood. The performance overlaps. I haven't had a 515 equal to the nicest 615 models. But the average 515 and 615 are likely identical in performance. There are just more 615 models for the slightly better ones to show up in.
On color, the classic finish slightly edges out the sunburst. I like the sunburst better. The classic has a stained in the wood, sort of muddy look on the spruce to me. The sunburst is smooth and elegant.
The blonde is breathtaking, as usual. I have 2 blonde ones now, a 914 oval and an 815 F/F model. Both look very crisp and clean.
I'm finding a preference for tone bars in talking and a preference for X bracing in playing. Those who don't know what they're playing pick the X bracing about 2:1.

do you have any pictures of that blonde 914, that sounds like it could be really nice.

I put some pictures in the "pictures" category of the MD914 and the MD504. Both oval hole, shows the classic finish and the blonde finish.
