For today only. With the discounted price you could pay for a pro set-up.

A few weeks ago I bought a condenser mic from them that listed for $199 and they had it on sale for $49.95 including shipping so I jumped on it...It is a great mic and fits my sound system perfect...

While I prefer to shop locally when practical, I must say that I have NEVER felt cheated, overcharged, or the victim of poor customer service in my dealings with Musicians Friend. Set up can be a problem anywhere you go and is highly individual.

Musician's Friend is excellent for what they do. They have recurrent sales, and once you're on their e-mail lists, you get frequent special offers. They aren't repair-and-set-up sellers, but if you get a cheap enough deal on some instrument, you can get it set up locally and still be money ahead. And for accessories, un-fancy cases and gig bags, mics and stands, PA gear, harmonicas, that kinda stuff, you get discounted prices, prompt shipping, etc. And of course a huge selection.

They're selling red Snark tuners for ten buxx, on special. I just sent for three of them. Also ordered three tripod mic stands for $13 each. My usual choice is to patronize local dealers for my strings'n'picks, and I do mostly, but I've bought a fair amount from Musician's Friend over the years.

Musician's Friend is a good resource if you know enough about what you're buying to make an informed selection, because they carry a lot of low-end junk along with decent gear. Often these "stupid deals" are for products in inventory that aren't selling, and there is a reason they aren't selling at the normal price.

I've never had a bad experience ordering from MF, but it's usually small stuff, or a few brands that aren't carried by Sweetwater, Elderly, or other places where you can get someone on the phone who actually knows something about the gear.
