I have someone asking about a 38-rib Maurer bowlback with the number 230 inside. Model number, I presume?

This thread could be helpful, as it discusses the Maurer-Larson Bros. chronology. Statement is made that pre-Larson (before 1900) Maurer mandolins had paper labels, Maurers made by the Larsons had a single wood-burned number stamped inside.
There's a link to a photo-montage of Larson-built instruments in the thread. If it's indeed built by the Larsons, its value jumps up significantly.
