    Default Nava English Walnut Mandolin

I’ve just completed this English Walnut mando for a customer and it will be shipped off to him soon. I love this walnut; it’s such a good wood to work, looks brilliant once finished and makes a great sounding mandolin too. 3 out of 3 ain’t bad!
Here are some choice photos for you. Hope that you like it.

Another beauty Gary. Walnut (especially 'burr') is my all time favourite wood & the back of that mandolin 'at least' rivals any Rosewood i've seen,as for the headstock veneer - wow !. I assume that the frets are EVO Gold - how do you find it to work with ?. My local luthier likes it but says it takes the edge off his cutters. I've got 2 meters of it ready for both of my mandolins when they need it,

    Hi Ivan,
    Thanks for the positive comments.
Yep, the frets are evo gold and without doubt it’s my favourite fret wire and I’m using it on all of my mandolins. I haven’t had any problems with it, although I do have the best wire cutters in the world! These Starrett ones from the 1890s!
