    Default Nava Electric Mandolin

    Hi Guys,
    Well, I’ve completed my e mando #1.
I really enjoyed building it and it is great fun to play too.
Here are a few photos for you: hope that you like them and a link to a video.

For those of you who are interested, I ‘ve also written in some depth about its design on my blog.

Hi Gary... I've been following the progress of this on your blog. Very impressive! I could find a million uses for this but am a bit short at the moment... hopefully I'll be able to commission one at some time in the future!

    All the best,

    Richard

Great work! Love the natural look. I find the tailpiece really intriguing. I hope you don't mind if I snag a photo for emando.com.

Thanks for the comment, Martin. Please feel free to use a photo, but I would appreciate it being credited to me.

    Gary -
    Looks very nice.
What do the two toggle switches do?
Does your tailpiece use ball end strings?
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hi Lee,
    There's a lot of information on my blog about the choices that I made;

    http://guitar-maker.blogspot.co.uk/2...-for-sale.html

But , yes the strings are ball-ended and one toggle switch is series/off/parallel for the humbucker and the other on/off for the piezo.

    Thanks for you interest, Gary

Gary & Bill - Thanks to both of you for your responses. I had not gone to the linked video and blog. Have now and very well explained. Thanks, again.

This has to be one of the prettiest musical instruments of any sort, I've ever seen. I'll go further....I've never seen a more artistic use of wood.
