I wonder if this is the one that was forever listed on the SF Lark in the Morning website?
I'm not sure if it's the one that Lark had. As I recall, Lark had asked $3500 for theirs. I remember playing one at the Lark store in SF years ago, and I seem to recall it had rosewood back and sides (my memory isn't what it used to be), which would mean the CL one was not the same one that Lark's store had in stock. But Lark was also a mail order shop, so they may have had more than one. Who knows?
In any case, I have one very much like the CL one, and it's a beauty. You can hear mine on one cut of the Marla Fibish/Jimmy Crowley "Morning Star" CD (I loaned mine to Jimmy for the recording, because he couldn't bring all of his instruments to California with him).

Well well it just so happens that I am going to Pittsburgh tomorrow morning -- then I realized this Pitt is not in PA!
For the quality of the wood and the build the price certainly seems reasonable -- even low in fact?

Due to current budgetary restrictions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off -- sorry about the inconvenience.
The price he's asking strikes me as reasonable. I was very tempted, but I have one already and don't think my 'cello jones extends to having two of the exact same model of an instrument that (face it) doesn't come out of the case all that often. As it is, I have three 'cellos: the DellArte, an Eastman f-hole archtop 'cello, and a Loar archtop guitar that someone converted to a 'cello that I got second-hand from the Cafe classifieds.

Did anyone try to contact this seller? A friend who has one and plays mandocello as his primary instrument, thought possibly of getting it as a backup but I just sent a reply to the ad and got a bounceback from CL even tho the ad is not marked expired as yet.
