Flickr.com - Oumou Sangaré & Béla Fleck (2012) 05 - Béla Fleck
KM's Live Music shots has added a photo to the pool:

19th July 2012 at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London SE1.
Part of Africa Utopia Festival.
Country: United States. Style: Wasulu Music.
Lineup: Oumou Sangaré (v/fle), Béla Fleck (banjo), Brehima "Benogo" Diakité (kamale ngoni), Sekouu Bah (bass g), Will Calhoun (d/udu), Dandio Sidibe (v/fle) and guest: Baaba Maal (v).
Oumou Sangaré’s family were Fulbe (Fulani) from Wasulu (Wassoulou) in south west Mali (althought she was actually born in the capital Bamako). Wasulu music often features the Kamale Ngoni (young man’s harp), and Benogo Diakité has been part of her band since the ealy days. She has also popularised the fle, a calabash strung with cowrie shells. She first met Béla Fleck in 2005 when he traveled to West Africa exploring the roots of the banjo. Born in NYC, his music has ranged across Bluegrass, Classical, Jazz and inflences from various parts of the world. Here rather than attempting a fusion (as on some of his recent albums), Felck largely fitted into Sangaré’s music. They were joined on stage briefly by Baaba Maal, who sang in praise of Sangaré.
