    Default Francesco Peretti & Figl., Naples

    Francesco Peretti & Figl., Naples
    anyone have any info about this maker? I think they were established about 1840 and from any examples I've seen they seemed to make fairly basic Neapolitan mandolins.

    I had one a while back - fairly basic mid-range maker - but I quite liked it. Here's the video I did of it at the time, looks like I was having another of my famous bad hair days that day!

    BTW, 1840 is very adventurous for the date - they may well have been established then, but the ones I've seen all look the typical turn of the century stuff.

    John, when you get done with them even "fairly basic mid-range" mandolins look like gems.

    LOL, thanks. Actually as that was one the first ones I had, I was a little nervous about looking up the photos, but actually it looks like it turned out OK
