Can anyone make out what he's playing? It's a great mandolin song but for the life of me I cant figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you trying to figure out what mando he has or what the tab is?
I think he wants to know HOW to play this song.

Chords are here, but you'll have to try if they are correct.
the world is better off without bad ideas, good ideas are better off without the world
There is a quite a good complete GuitarPro tab for the song here:
http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/j/je...guitar_pro.htm
The tab includes all of the parts including Ian's mandolin part. You have to have GuitarPro to read the file though.
By the way, I saw Ian Anderson playing Thick As A Brick 1 & 2 yesterday.... No mandolin used during his concert (which was great).
Déjà Vu 5s 'Clockwork Orange 2' Emando
'Clockwork Orange 3' Octave Emando
Kasuga M50
Martella bowlback (old mandolin)
Dunhuang Liuqin
50's anonymous Mandolin-banjo
"A gentleman is a man who can play the bagpipe and who does not."
Here is an ASCII export of the mandolin part for the non-GuitarPro enabled.
