    Default Michigan Jams

I found the Riverfolk Jamfest going on in Manchester
    and the Hillsdale Fiddler's Convention
There should also be one starting up again in hanover the 3rd saturday of every month from October to April...

Other than that... what Jam's or Festivals occur regularly in Michigan? I've been trying to locate jams but a lot of them on the boards I am finding are expired or old. I live in south central michigan and I am particularly intrested in jams by Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenewee, Ingham, Eaton, & Washetenaw counties but if you know of others please list them in case someone else would like to know.

I am looking for places to play music and I don't know many people - almost no one who likes bluegrass.

There is a BG jam at Woldumar Nature Center on Sundays pm. There is the Charlotte BG festival at Eaton Co. Fairgrounds. Can't think of any others.
The more I'm around people, the better I like dogs.

The charlotte one passed already I believe. need to stay on the look out for next year.
There is one in Niles but I think that may have passed already too.
I may have to check out Woldumar some time.

What part of Michigan are you from?

    Sarai.
If you join the Fiddler's Association at Hillsdale, they print a schedule of get-togethers throughout Michigan for the next year.

I stopped out to the Marshall festival for a very short time Friday. I could only be there til about 2 so I thought I would pop in early hoping to find a jam. I was a little disappointed. Apparently everyone stayed up to late Thursday. The jams started forming about 5 minutes before I left. If anyone saw a lonely girl hanging out on a bench with her mandolin all morning, that was me

You should go to Wheatland music festival. You will meet all kinds of people interested into acoustic music. There are usually some mandolin classes and other classes to take where you can meet other mandolin interested people. People from all over Michigan come. It is in Remus MI. I just moved out of state so I won't be making it this year.
