Spectacular! Any details about the woods? European spruce, I imagine?

Yeah. That's cool. I would love to hear it. I don't think Tim O'Brien will be rocking a blue OM anytime soon, but I wonder who will?

WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, OMG, that's the most beautiful octave I've ever seen. I love his work, that extension is killer, the headstock, the binding, tp, everything, holy smokes.

Monteleone really is an artist, isn't he? Every detail on that OM just fits together perfectly. I have the Kellerman collection book, With Strings Attached, and several of John's guitars grace those pages.

Man, everything he does is simply astounding. Not sure about the blue for my own taste, but the aura his instruments exude shine like nothing else.

My first impression when I saw it was "That's very French." Must be the blue. I think it's grand. I hope Mrs. Mandohack isn't going to get surprised by this showing up on the door. Right, Ted?

Kind of has the familiar feel of faded jeans and a brown plaid shirt. I wonder if he made a matching mandolin jazz box?

Jamie, this would get me in HUGE trouble with Mrs. Mandohack. Monteleones are mercifully priced out of my league. though.

From John Monteleone, a few answers to questions:
"Scale is 19" and the spruce is Alpine red, I forget which side of the mountains but probably Italian.
The maple is red. The dot inlays are recycled Steinway ivory keys. Tuners are Alessio with ivory buttons."

Just off the charts gorgeous. Love the pickguard too. It appears to have a deeper body than other GOMs I've seen--maybe the shorter scale length needs the deeper body. I bet it would play like a dream.
