    Default My New Pickin' Buddy

I have been playing gigs this summer with young guitar picker that is sure to have a bright future. He goes by the name Billy Strings and is currently 19 years old. Here is a video clip of us playing last week at the National Cherry Festival. Keep an eye open for this kid!

That was fun. Billy already has the "cool" tats. Reminded me of Brian Seltzer. Nice pickin'

Mike, I know the sound is not great on this video. The sound is just from the mic on the camera and the P.A. operator was pretty young and inexperienced. Anyway I am playing a Northfield F5 in this video.

Yeah I know. The audio is from the mics on the zoom Q3HD which are very good. The problem is that the under-experienced but over-worked sound guy didn't really understand acoustic music. It did not sound any better on stage than what you are hearing from the video. The next one will have better audio. I promise.

Hey Don, nice pickin' and thanks for posting. Do you have any upcoming performances with Billy? Time/place? [Edit - Ok, I see Thursdays at the TC Film Fest... others?] I haven't been around TC enough to catch you. Looks like the Symposium was a lot of fun. Hope your summer is going well. Looking forward to the release of your book!
