    Default Summer NAMM Show 2012

The Summer NAMM Show isn't what it used to be in the glory days, certainly nothing compared to the winter show in scope and volume. Still, a day to cruise Gruhns and hook up with old friends was fun. Here's a more mandocentric pictorial from my last 3 days here in Nashville, TN. Keep in mind, you really can't hear anything when you play an instrument, so I didn't even bother.

Eastman Grisman signature models. Didn't get a picture of it, but their new 300 series F (list $825) was on display, too.

New from Korg, HK Audio Nano 300 sound system. At a MAP price of $699, this will be the perfect solution for the small solo/duo coffee house ensemble. Better than a good acoustic amp, and not much more of an investment.

I'd love to make a joke about this, but doing so would just be trolling.

Thanks Mr. "E" I dropped by Gruhns yesterday too with an attempt to play an Oliver Apitus "F" that was in stock. Some lucky NAMM visitor beat me to it and bought it... C'est la Vie...

This show is streaming on the net, isn't it?

This is the instrument I reach for when the chips are down.

What was the name of that jig? Or was it a reel? Whatever, it was really catchy. Full of hooks.
