No, I've been playing the Breedlove for a couple weeks now! And I think I'm almost at a solid decision there.
But no, I've never played a Weber and I don't know where I could.

And if you're groaning, imagine me! Keep in mind I'm still playing on my 16 year old epiphone that I revived to the best of my ability (when I say "revived," think Frankenstein).

So I'm aching to buy one. I'll try to get a feel for Weber tone by listening to some HQ recordings, but I'm already leaning towards the Breedlove because I think it would do wonderfully in the mix with my rosewood Taylor.

If you believe in serendipity, divine providence, or something along those lines, then you're going to be a really happy camper with whichever mandolin you choose, because you know that you will enjoy it more than the other one.

If you shift into the "I'm going to inevitably choose the wrong mandolin" mentality, here are the scenarios I see:

    1) You buy the Breedlove. If you had a chance to play a Weber, you would like it better. However, you probably will not play one for years, decades, or ever. So, you'll be thrilled with how wonderfully the Breedlove mixes in with your Taylor.

    2) You buy the Weber. Once you get it and give it a chance to open up --- and I don't know about other mando players, but I think that new Breedloves begin to open up faster than new Webers do --- you realize that you really liked the Breedlove better. So, you'll enjoy the Weber, but often think about the one that got away.

I believe in the fact with that a jump from an epiphone to either a BL or Weber I'm going to be ecstatic whichever way I go.

It's just a matter of trying to decide the tone I want to have for good... Because I like both haha.
