    Default Tom Cat Reeder

Here in the DC, Md., Northern Va. area there was a country/bluegrass radio DJ that was well known and loved by most listeners, his name was Tom Cat Reeder, Tom passed away about a week ago....one day last week while doing a broadcast on WAMU he had some mini strokes and he didn`t want to quit his show, he was forgetting what songs he was playing and slurring his words but Tom Cat was a trooper to the last minute...Right after the show he was taken to the hospital and he slipped into a coma and not long after he passed away....He loved his job and his public and wanted to give them his all so he died doing what he loved....Rest in peace Tom Cat and keep spinning those records where ever you are....

Sounds like he was doing what he loved to do right up to the end. You can't ask for much more than that.

RIP Tom Cat. I can only hope to live up to the end like that.

RIP indeed, I always enjoyed listening to him on WAMU internet and earlier in my life when I would visit DC. They hardly make 'em like that any more -- a real DJ with deep love for and knowledge of the music he played. I am sure Eddie Stubbs picked up some tips from Tom Cat.
