Great thread, thanks for the videos.
The comparison video cemented into my head that my ear leans towards the more modern sound. Both great mandolins, I enjoyed the playing very much [more like what I play than straight up Monroe] - but that Heiden just had a sweetness to it that wins in my book.
That Stanley sure is fine, though. Proud to have such great mandolins come from Wisconsin.

Thanks Markus, sorry for replying so slowly, I have my alerts sent weekly so it takes forever but less email for meBoth great for sure but when playing with other people the Stanley cuts through so I favor it so much that I just sold the Heiden, I know not cool but I have other financial responsibilities that require I keep this mandolin thing in check. rgkf, thanks for the link, I'm becoming a total Stanley homer so it's cool to see the FB page.
