    Thanks Ron, I play a lot of styles but like that traditional mandolin tone, I think it works with all styles well.

    Great thread, thanks for the videos.

    The comparison video cemented into my head that my ear leans towards the more modern sound. Both great mandolins, I enjoyed the playing very much [more like what I play than straight up Monroe] - but that Heiden just had a sweetness to it that wins in my book.

    That Stanley sure is fine, though. Proud to have such great mandolins come from Wisconsin.

    Thanks Markus, sorry for replying so slowly, I have my alerts sent weekly so it takes forever but less email for me Both great for sure but when playing with other people the Stanley cuts through so I favor it so much that I just sold the Heiden, I know not cool but I have other financial responsibilities that require I keep this mandolin thing in check. rgkf, thanks for the link, I'm becoming a total Stanley homer so it's cool to see the FB page.
