    Maybe they're fraternal twins...
Brand new custom order from Collings -What can I say? It is the perfect fit and finish we have all come to expect from Collings. The tone goes on for days, I can't quite put it into words but it is very different from the MT gloss top that is shown in the pictures with it.

From an old woodworker, the Birdseye one piece back is stunning.

dang, those are gorgeous! Such a handsome couple. I could easily see a similar acquisition if I were thinning the herd and starting over. Congrats!

Here's mine. I had an early MT2O, and traded it towards one of their arch tops. I missed it but have an MF5O, but after missing "recapturing" my old MT2O I decided that I would design the ultimate MT2O. Engelmann top complete with pickguard, waverlies and yes, a James tailpiece.
so many mandolins, so little time.

Cheers, that's a beautiful mandolin. Hope it's finding its place among the others.

Thanks for the comments, I think this thing sounds better every time I play it!

Mandobar- I would have loved to do the waverly tuners and the and James tailpiece, but such is life...!

    Randy, how are you?

Yes, it is in rotation with the others. Its got some playing time on it.

I generally end up refitting with waverlys, so we cut to the chase. As for the tailpiece, the dealer told me he's been doing this a lot. It is easier for string changes.

It has taken me some time but now I really wish I had known of this option! String changes with the collings tailpieces are not as smooth as I wished...
