Default Does anyone know what strings would come on a Kentucky KM 900?

I finally change the original string off my KM 900 to my go to J74 and Id like to get another set like the one that come on it, I think i liked the sound of them more. The j74 might actually sound better over all. But the original string gave the mandolin a throaty ( i think would be the term) sound on the bass string that i really liked

Hi D tide; according to David Gartland, Marketing and Artist Relations Director for Saga Musical Instruments, Saga specs their Kentucky mandolins with GHS light gauge phosphor bronze strings (GHS A250).
Plays bass guitar, tenor guitar, guitar, and mandolin for 'The R.u.B.'

Thanks for the info maybe my problem is that the G string is much larger its not be as free to vibrate as the smaller string since it has pretty low action ill have to investigate

Every instrument will have a string gauge and composition that it responds to the best. A heavier (or lighter) string can enhance or diminish a particular note's response depending on other factors. Only experimentation with strings will tell, as the thickness of the top and tone bars is pretty much static.
