Cat,
I was wondering if anybody ever noticed ... I was so proud of that bass ... but I sold it to swing this Rattlesnake of mine and glad I did it. I'll see if I can not post it the rest of this year ... unless somebody starts a thread on `61 Hofner basses ...![]()
No worries mick--don't stop posting your photo on my account!

Cabin Fever String Band, National Pike Pickers
You remember the days when MikeEdgerton put forward multiple previous thread suggestions to peruse in a commonly repeated question thread.
Hereby & forthwith, any instrument with an odd number of strings shall be considered broken. With regard to mix levels, usually the best approach is treating the mandolin the same as a cowbell.
Hmmm? Those days are not so far gone; pretty recent examples exist, in fact. Mike definitely has a knack for that, though, and it's worth acknowledging.
Jim, I'm with you on thread-killing. It's a guilty pleasure, even a point of pride - depending on the nature of both the thread and the post, of course. But saying just the right thing, tying it all up so neatly that nothing more need be said, feels like success, and smells like ... victory!

I think you guys have killed this one pretty well.
Ok, reservoir dogs... How do you figure out the top poster list? I'm curious.
I guess it's a good thing that all you top posters are of advanced age and on the East Coast, it gives the West Coast guys a chance to catch up![]()

... or just click on the link in post #12.No, I'm not lazy, I'm just ... using available resources ... yeah, that's it ... that's the ticket!
Hey, PJ - thanks for keeping the thread alive, whether you meant to or not.![]()

This thread is doing wonders for me psychologically!!! I thought I was the only one whose post was the death knell for threads ... I'm OK ... You're OK ...![]()
... you have ACTUAL friends who started as VIRTUAL friends here on the Cafe.
... you get tired of answering the really basic newbie questions and let someone else do it
(from the CBOM section)
... you can explain in 100 words or less what is meant by octave mandolin v. octave mandola v. bouzouki, complete with linguistic history
... when on vacation, you take pics of anything you encounter that's mando related so you can post it to the cafe. Your partner thinks you're nuts.
... you disappear from regular postings on the cafe for a couple of years b/c your life is in turmoil, and people are welcoming and happy to see you when you come back.
