Darrell Scott at the Sierra Nevada Big Room 6/13/12

Darrell Scott performed at the Sierra Nevada Big Room in Chico CA last week. He made the announcement on a radio interview that he was traveling with only a guitar and if anyone was willing to bring another instrument he would play it onstage. I brought two instruments that I built to the show and Darrell opened the show playing my #3 mandolin. What a great player and nice guy. Good beer too...
I still can't believe Darrell Scott played my mando on stage last week...I may never come down!!!

That is really cool. I love Darrell Scott!

I have noticed that more and more pro players seem to appreciate local luthiers by playing their instruments on stage. Adam Steffey has done this a couple of times up here in the Pacific Northwest.

THis is very cool. Darrell is so freakin talented with any instrument he touches. I saw him this sprinig in a solo concert and he played guitar, banjo, bouzouki and piano. If you get the chance to see him, DO IT! You'll come away with a huge smile on your face.
