I was gonna say duct tape, honest - after all, duct tape can fix almost anything, maybe even a broken heart - then I thought of chewing gum, which seemed even funnier. This method wouldn't work on a banjo, by the way. Chewing tobacco won't stick to the strings.

I know - just can't resist an opportunity for a zinger. And no - the gators have the upper hand, er, jaw, and know it. Fortunately, they are fond of fresh water, so us folks down here at the end of the world are safe. From them, anyway.

Chewing tobacco won't stick to the strings? Ever try "Mail Pouch"? I have found that garden snails do the trick and they are free, also, it's great fun when a string breaks and they go flying!
