I was just yesterday afternoon driving past Frank's neighborhood in Saratoga and thinking of him. Hope he'll do well and be home soon.

All prayers to Frank. Can't stand the thought of losing yet another giant--so many gone, so close together. Healing vibes coming your way, Frank!

From Dennis Satterlee, author of Teardrops in my Eyes: the Music of Harley "Red" Allen...

I just spoke to Marsha, Frank’s friend in Saratoga Springs, and got this update...

Frank, who suffers with emphysema, was taken to the hospital last week with what was diagnosed as a collapsed lung. He was released and over the weekend once again found himself unable to breathe. For a second time his lung was re- inflated and this time surgery was conducted to remove blebs or lesions from his lung. This seems to have been successful and he is currently joking and backing talkwards with hospital staff. He should be released soon.

After previous heat surgery that is another major operation for someone 77 years old.
Frank is a tough ol' bird though. Wishing him the best!
