Smile My recent trip to N.C.

Just got back from one of the most memorable trips in my 61 years!
Went to N.C. for a graduation party and while I was there had the good fortune to visit with the cafe's own, F5Loar, Talk about southern hospitality!
I contacted Tom before my trip and he was nice enough to invite me to his home to see his Bluegrass Museum,it is better than any collection I have ever seen. The quality of the collection is remarkable, and it is quite extensive.I also was invited to join Tom at a pickin' party, the best local musicians were there,it was GREAT!!!
Stopped for a bite of true lexington style BBQ,delicious
And then it felt like I had gone to Heaven, back at Tom's house he brought out his collection of F5 Loar Mandolins
I had hoped one day to be able to see one Loar,on saturday I saw, held, picked on 3Loars and one unsigned Loar,I was beside myself with awe and happiness
If anyone ever wants to see some truly remarkable treasures,BG Museum,Museum of toys and games or if you are a collector of 50's & 60's toys and games contact F5Loar here on the website, he just might have that rare piece you have been searching for!
Thank You, Tom and your Wife, you made me feel comfortable and welcome in your home and Thanks for leaving me with such wonderful memories that I shall hold in my heart for a long time to come
    Someday we will pick together,
    Al

Wish I lived in the U.S; lucky you : )
To make a ukulele sound good, you need lots of skill.
To make a banjo sound good, you need high skill.
To make a mandolin sound good, you're crazy.
