It looks like I've found another issue with the Loar LM-400 mandolin I recently purchased from the Forum Classifieds. The CA bridge has a crack in the top section near the thumbscrew hole. The mandolin was shipped with the strings relaxed, so there was no tension on the bridge during shipping. I've only tightened the strings to tune it – I have not messed with the bridge or thumbscrews. I hope I can replace the top of the bridge and not mess with the fitted bottom portion of the bridge. I'm going to contact Cumberland Acoustics about it tomorrow. Any advice, will be appreciated. Thanks.
