They both look great! Who made the guitar? Vermont has great cheese and maple sugar too......

The guitar is a Froggy Bottom H12 Deluxe.

I saw the frog on the label but have never seen one. I have heard of them. That Campanella must be spectacular. The neck looks comfortable, the woods look great, It has a strong violin influence and unique character. It even has the varnish scraped to fit the top grain it looks like. Here is a link to a similar H12 for folks to hear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jiTVJ3IFWw. Great tone, good choices.

I forget where I saw the explanation of the finish but it said that Joe doesn't use sandpaper on his instruments. I really like the feel of the top. You can run your fingers across it and feel the grain. The maple back is more uniform but its most likely the characteristics of the species. There are small pin hole sized marks here and there. To me its just character. I'll see if I can get some close up pics of what I'm talking about.

I have heard it mentioned that the overhanging plates increase the stiffness of the top and back, great design! It would probably also make it easier to disassemble if it ever needs repair, I think.

    Nice gear, and local, too.
