Banjo and Mando - One Wanted and One for Sale - Need Opinions

Hi All,

Before I go the classified route I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for me.

My wife and I are looking for a couple of entry level banjos and we seem to have settled on the Deering Goodtime. We have checked the classified section of Mandoline Cafe but see that there are no Goodtimes for sale. Is our next best bet to go to eBay, Kijiji, etc?

The other question that we have is that we have a Eastman F-style 515 mandolin that has been sitting around and it will have to go. We have no idea what sort of value it has. It is virtually unplayed, nice Eastman case, and a strap. Again, should we use eBay to fix an approximate price on it?

You can pick up a new 515 for $1,000 so look at roughly 60% of that for a used one. $500 - $600... You might get a trade for a banjo for it. I assume 5-string banjo? Put it in the Classifieds for a Trade and see what you get offered...
