    Hello everyone! Buon giorno!

I am a lover of traditional Italian music. I just purchased a Fender Sunburst Mandolin model FM - 53S SB #"A" style. Also, I have the International Passport Series of The Great Italian Songbook, Arranged and Edited by Dan Fox, Author Carl Fischer (anyone know this songbook?).

Anyway, my problema is, I do not know how to play this mandolino. I would like to learn. All the teachers of mandolin in my area want to teach me Bluegrass music, which by the way is very nice, but, I love and want to learn traditional Italian music.

All suggestions will be appreciated. Grazie!!

    Ciao, Arrivederci

I am using the Bickford method downloadable. I also have had a lesson and that was absolutely needed. You can do it on your own but it will save time and experimentation to find someone, at least occasionally, to get a lesson from. I picked up the mandolin for the same reason and have Terry Pender's Italian Mandolin Book. John

I also have some Italian tunes on my tunes page.

Where are you located in the world? If you are in the US you can check the CMSA instructor list.

If you are elsewhere, post here and let us know and I am sure that the contributors to this board can help.

Regardless of what type of music you want to play, the standard methods will work esp in conjunction with a good teacher.
