Can't access classifieds from start page.

...I can see the classifieds if I click on "Classifieds", but not if I just click on an ad from the start page. This started when the classifieds were upgraded.

You'll have to explain this a little better. What's a "start page," for one? What's the address of that page and what link are you clicking? You say you can't access but what does that mean? Are you getting File Not Found errors, other problems? Can't see images, text, other things? What page are you on when this occurs?

If he's talking about the home page I just tried it from Firefox and IE9 and it works for me.

I can't be sure I really understand what the problem is from the description but I think you're saying if you are clicking on the individual ads in the "What's Happening Now" area from the Cafe main home page at http://www.mandolincafe.com that you're getting blocked from accessing that page. If that's the case, my hunch is (I'd bet the farm on this), you have some kind of software on your personal computer that's blocking ads like a personal firewall, virus protection, etc. These are ads, but we're actually using that in the path, ie., http://www.mandolincafe.com/ads/57073. You don't say if you can click into the long view which also uses this path. See now why I need very specific instructions on what you're doing. We get over 1,000+ page views per hour around the clock--including this very moment--and I know this is not a Cafe generated issue. Yes, you're getting blocked, but not everyone is blocked. I've seen people getting blocked by their own software many times before. If we can pinpoint that's the issue then you should be able to make adjustments on your end to resolve this.

It definitely is a problem with my computer, which won't let me access some websites or pages at all, even with other browsers. I noticed this problem for the first time at the Cafe when the classifieds were upgraded, but it is a glitch on my end. When I open the Cafe it opens to Happening now...classifeds. If I click on a particular ad, I get a blank screen. The address shows up correctly, but the ad doesn't load. If I go "Ten most recently posted Classified Ads of 484" and click on "Classified Ads" I can see the first 30 ads, but it will not let me load page two (next 30 ads). Again, this is my problem on this computer, my other computer works fine. I'll keep looking for a solution to this difficult problem. Thanks for a great website!

Still recommend you shut down any virus protection software and test accessing those pages just on this site. Don't recommend you surf out anywhere else, and turn it back on after you're through testing. Also, tell me if you can access this page I just made for testing purposes (everyone, quick, look at this page, it's really cool). That'll give me a clue what the problem could be on your end.

I turned off Kaspersky and tried to load the problem pages. No luck. I clicked on your special page (it said Ads!). I've looked around on the net for a solution to this problem, which is apparently fairly widespread. So far, no luck. Since the issue occurs on IE, Firsfox, and Chrome, I suspect some pesky code buried deep in the computer. I'm glad I have the other computer. Thanks for your efforts.

Flush your disk cache and reboot because I want to make sure some information I just changed on this end as part of a test isn't in your computer's memory (cache). Then try to access the Classifieds once more. If you can't, that pretty much rules out any hunches I have.
