    Question Stefano Caponneto Catania, Thats all what i know :D

    Hey every Body ,
    I got this Mandolin from my grand father yesterday & i was trying to search for any information about how to restore it again to its original shape best type of string , polish , etc & if it really worth something as its a more than 60 yrs old mandolin :D any advice or information about it will be help full thanks ....

    It looks to be in decent shape, and needs the attention of a luthier skilled in setup. I can't tell what the board is even made of, perhaps it's just dirty, but getting it playing again is something you should entrust to someone with experience, rather than attempt a DIY. Where do you live? Perhaps there's someone right nearby.

    Catania has a long history as a center for the manufacture of mandolins, guitars, etc.
