A great builders site is Luthier Forum http://www.luthierforum.com/index.php?/index. free register and you will find a host of people building everything from archtops onward. There are any number of community build alongs with terrific photos and advice.

Don's in Virginia. I built the OM kit. sure was fun. I look at these plans and consider making another sometime soon for fun. Just something to consider. I should send Don an email and see how the mandocello kit is coming along.

How did the octave you built turn out? You imply he is thinking about a mandocello kit as well?
