Cafe Classified enhancements. Multiple pictures!

JazzMando What's New - We mentioned last week the incredible changes in the Classifieds sections over at MandolinCafe.com. We have an ad prototype demonstrating the multiple picture capability. This should greatly enhance communication between buyer and seller.

We encourage you to take the picture opportunity seriously when you post a sale. There's little that helps increase the sale price of a good instrument better than a well lighted and sharply focused picture. It also gives the seller the opportunity to point out any flaws upfront--prior to the sale squelching potential buyer remorse when these are pointed out prior to cash exchanging hands.
Also, we want to mention this ad was posted earlier with a higher price on the Arrow F4, originally with a Bobelock case. The package can now be purchased for $120 cheaper with a quality used Eastman fiberglass case for only $1875. Hard to find an American made F4 of this caliber at this price.

I see that this is still in testing phase and have a suggestion. After clicking a thumbnail for a larger view, I first thought I had to close and then click the next thumbnail. I eventually discovered that moving the pointer over the left half of the picture revealed the "Previous" link and moving over the right half of the picture revealed the "Next" link. This is unlike viewing mulitiple pictures within a thread post where the "Previous/Next" links always show in the lower left hand corner of the picture. If doable, this same link arrangement would be great for the classified as well. Otherwise, great upgrade to the classifieds just as it is already.

I think the software makers of this forum rolled their own Lightbox (what this technique is called). If that's the case we won't be able to use that in the Classifieds which I agree would be desirable. I'm searching on that information to confirm. The version in the Classifieds was a default install. Can't say it'll be used in the final version. Most of these all work similarly.

It seems that once one has opened one of the thumbnails, clicking anywhere in that thumbnail will open the next thumbnail.

1/2 right.

Clicking anywhere on the right half of the pic will take you to the next pic. Clicking anywhere on the left half of the pic will take you to the previous pic. It works fine once you know the trick. Just not used to not seeing links that clearly identify prev/next.

No. We just don't have a set schedule when the project will be complete. Likely not getting done any time soon.

No problem and thanks. One question - can the classifieds be modified to insert a hyperlink, or is that opening the door for HTML issues? I created a Cafe album with multiple pics of a sale item but then had to post the text version of the album's web address and instruct viewers to copy-n-paste into their browser.
