I've only used Paypal on about 3 ocassions to pay for I'net purchases. I usually use my Mastercard for these purchases as it offers a degree of protection. If you use PayPal,as with most kinds of I'net transaction,it requires the card 'valid fom' date & the card 'expiry' date.
A few weeks ago my Mastercard was close to it's 'expiry' date. I received an e-mail message from PayPal asking me to register my bank account number with them. The reason they gave was that although credit/debit cards expire, bank accounts don't & there's always cash there to be used in any transaction.
Have any of you guys /gals had a similar request ?. The mere thought of giving anybody my bank account # makes me cringe at the thought of what could happen. I don't know whather this was a scam or a genuine request (if mis-guided one)from Paypal,
Ivan![]()

I'll just say that the very real dangers associated with using PayPal (and with selling to/buying from distant strangers) display how great a resource the Mandolin Cafe Classifieds are.
). I always go DIRECTLY to Paypal by typing in the HTTP address.
