Thank you baby Jesus for one smokin hot mandolin...
The Loar LM 400VS
Northfield Big Mon #155
I'd say so. I love Thile's 2nd break on Billy in the L, where not only does he play the most fabulous crazy tricky stuff just for the lulz, you can see that what he's really thinking about is pulling the most glorious sizzling tone from his Loar on every note. And he does it. Thank god someone does, so I don't have to.
Debating on if this inspired me to practice more or quit. Amazing, thanks for sharing.
Wow! the Guitar playing is superb, the mando is awesome. I often wonder if Chris Thile has reached the absolute boundary of what's possible without growing another hand or two. The control he has at speed is very impressive.......... No, "very impressive" doesn't even begin to describe it. Can I say Wow! again?
And on top of all that virtuosity, the song and overall performance seems to come first for Thile.
What a special artist!
Plays bass guitar, tenor guitar, guitar, and mandolin for 'The R.u.B.'

I made sure my mando was in another room before I played this. I'm afraid it would run away from home looking for some better fingers to make it sing more like this (wouldn't take much searching, I'm afraid). I can hear it weaping in the next room. Hush. Life's not fair, my lovely wooden friend.
