    It's something I hate about the name "the loar", the fact you need to include the "the" even when it sounds out of place (i e in this example "I have recently bought a new the loar" sounds stupid).

    My thought on first glance was "Who uglified that wonderful old three pointer." Then I looked at the scroll a little more closely and the headstock scroll, and realized it was ugly from the beginning.

    Something about the scrolls on those things reminds me of those old Jester's shoes.... all it needs is a little bell on the end.

    I have one and it's unplayable and I've seen some others and they were unplayable. This is probably the 1st and only Bruce Wei mandolin that actually has playing wear!

    I have an friend that has one of those. It weighs a ton and sounds so thin and tintie
    ... not much volume and no tone to speak of
