Ian... me, personally? I usually play IT and Old Time music. If you are asking about what the Song a Week Social Group usually plays.... it's all over the place!

If, "The Falls of Richmond" don't make the cut, can we try again? I love this modal tune and know two of the parts pretty well. Just haven't mastered the whole tune, which some play with three, four or five parts.

Interesting sidebar to this tune, it has nothing to do with Richmond, Virginia, the falls of the James River in Richmond, Virginia or the fall of Richmond during the Civil War. It's a land-grab story of a railroad company in West Virginia as it coursed along a river and ultimately encroached onto private land (where there happened to be a water fall).

    Or so I'm told. . .

f-d.... I try to keep the tunes on the poll for about a month, unless they aren't getting any votes, so that the ones that 'almost' make it, get every chance.

Just record it and put it out in the Group. There are plenty tunes there that never made Song of the Week...
