    Smile Grabbed me an OM!

My wife is going to KILL ME! But I've been hunting a TC on eBay for a while now and one finally popped up, grabbed it at the Buy It Now for $350, with a Baggs Radius on it plus a Fishman preamp. I thought it was too good to pass up, hoping I won't be disappointed. Link is below, any thoughts? I have never laid eyes or hands on an OM in real life, by the way.

Buy a bunch of real cheap banjo cases and profess an interest in collecting old cases. Once she gets used to seeing a bunch of cases around, hide the new OM in one of the cases.

Oh, you were looking for thoughts about the instrument. ... Never mind.....

    Congrats, Phil!

That's about the best deal anyone who is looking to try out an OM could get. You did a good job!

The TC isn't a $3000+ one-off, handmade legend, but it is plenty good enough for you to pluck away on to see if you like the range, and capabilities of the OM. Then, if you like it, you can start your hunt for someone to build you your own $3000+, one-off, handmade legend!

    Enjoy your nice grab!

Congrats Phil. I saw that earlier today too, and knowing how much just the preamp and Baggs pick up cost, even I found the deal irresistible. But then I suddenly remembered what my wife would likely have said if I had pulled the trigger... : )

I had one like it before (sans the pickup and preamp), and paid about the same for it. It was a good player and served me real well. I know you will enjoy it.

Looks like fun! I think my wife would enjoy the lower register of an OM. (The "shrillness" of the mandolin drives her nuts so, I play outdoors and let 'er rip!)

Chose an opportune/happy time to tell her, and went well. Looking forward to trying out the OM.
