I teach a mandolin group / orchestra Monday nights here in South Hadley from 6-7:30pm.

For our June Recital, we are learning the following pieces:

1. Flatbush Waltz
2. I'll Fly Away
3. Ancient Aires & Dances (Respighi)
4. Blackberry Blossom
5. Whiskey Before Breakfast

What tunes / pieces do you recommend for a mandolin group / orchestra such as ours?

They're arrangements by Matt Norman except the additional O'Carolan one called "Planxty Hewlett" which Simon Mayor has done an arrangement for our July concert. I've linked Matt's contact details so you can ask if you think any are of interest or if the group decide to go for one.

The Respighi is great! I've always heard it with mandolins in mind...have even tried to get some people together to play it!
